A broker is a middle-man who can help you buy and sell all types of financial products and services. You can, for example, use a stockbroker to help you build an investment portfolio, an insurance broker to help you buy a life insurance policy or a mortgage broker to help you sort out your mortgage. In basic terms you?ll tell a broker what you want and they will go out and try and find the best deals for you. Your broker can do all of the hard work for you and simply come back to you with your best choice(s).
Brokers can also help you arrange and manage your financial products/services purchases. Some may charge you a fee for the process but many people find that this is a small price to pay for the help and assistance they give. Many brokers are committed to not charging consumers for their services ? they make their money via commission payments from the actual financial companies themselves.
